About Me

Introduction

I am Dr. Syed Ali Hussain, a Physical Therapist and Assistant Professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences. I hold a Ph.D. in Physical Therapy from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), Iran, where I graduated as the "Top Student." Additionally, I have a Master's Degree in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Ethics and Teaching Methodology from Riphah International University. My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Rawalpindi Medical College, University of Health Sciences. I also hold a certification in Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from SonoSkills.

With over 12 years of comprehensive experience in academic, clinical, and research settings, I have developed proficiency in various contemporary diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, including Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), Electromyography (EMG), Biofeedback, Motion Analysis, Force Plates, Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, and Electrotherapy. My expertise in manual therapy has allowed me to teach and train numerous therapists both in Pakistan and internationally. I integrate advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques into my practice to enhance patient outcomes.

Since 2020, I have served as an Assistant Professor at private University. Previously, I held academic positions at Riphah International University and the Women Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, where I contributed significantly to the development of physical therapy education and research. As a Consultant Physical Therapist at Aqua Shoulder Rehab, I provide specialized physical therapy and rehabilitation services.

My research portfolio includes 34 research articles published in reputable national and international journals. I have supervised numerous MS and DPT theses, reflecting my commitment to mentoring the next generation of physical therapists. My research interests focus on manual therapy, electrotherapy, anthropometry, low back pain, neck pain, trigger points, shoulder pain, asymmetries in the musculoskeletal system, rehabilitation techniques, and innovative modalities for managing various musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. My Ph.D. thesis examined the "Effects of Whole-Body Vibration Therapy in Weight-Bearing and Non-Weight Bearing Positions for Upper and Lower Extremities on Balance and Function in Children with Cerebral Palsy."

My motivation for entering the field of physical therapy stems from my passion for helping individuals regain functional independence and improve their quality of life. I view physical therapy as an art, where each therapeutic intervention is tailored to create a masterpiece of functional recovery. My dedication to continuous learning and innovation drives me to integrate the latest advancements in medical science with compassionate, patient-centered care.

Through my academic, clinical, and research endeavors, I aim to elevate the standards of physical therapy practice in Pakistan and beyond, making a significant impact on the lives of my patients and the broader community.
